Saturday morning I had the good fortune of ripping into a hobby box of 2012-13 Panini Threads Basketball. I ordered my hobby box from Dave and Adam’s Card World, which unless e-bay has a better deal, is my one stop shop for everything basketball cards.
On a side note, their site is definitely worth a look right now. Dave and Adam have plenty of good deals going on right now for the holidays. Click here to check ’em out.
Threads guarantees three autographs and one memorabilia card per hobby box.
All three of the autos pulled from the box were from the rookie card set. The set boasts rookies from both the ’11 and ’12 draft classes. Each card is produced on wood and features an on-card autograph.
The first two autographs pulled were from Jon Leuer and Arnett Moultrie. Leuer was originally drafted by the Milwaukee Bucks in the 2011 draft. After appearing in 46 games with the Bucks during the 2011-12 season, Leuer signed with the Cavs as a free agent during the offseason.
Moultrie, who was drafted by the Miami Heat this past June, was traded to the Philadelphia 76ers the next day.
The best autograph was fittingly pulled last. I was down to four packs when I pulled Andre Drummond’s rookie autograph card (photo at right courtesy of e-bay). Drummond, who was taken with the ninth overall pick in the 2012 draft by the Detroit Pistons, is averaging six points and five rebounds to begin his rookie season.
Once I am able to get access to a decent camera, I will provide a more in-depth box break along with photos of all the noteworthy cards I pulled.
